PB’s: Tan: 12:41; 5k: 16:50 (Frog Hollow parkrun); 10k: 34:38 (Albert Park AV); Half marathon: 1:16:31 (Burnley AV); Marathon: 2:49:10 (Melbourne).
Why I started running: Starting running to exercise our Labradoodle, but after a few months I could run faster and further than her so she got left at home. She still got lots of walks though. Also start running at lunchtime around the tan with Courts whom I previously worked with. Did lots of laps of the tan with Courts until I joined the Milers about a year later.
First joined the Midday Milers: 2014. I worked with Smoothy who brought me down to a session.
Running highlight: Winning the 60km Wilson’s Prom trail run was fun. Great camping with a few other milers and running in beautiful surroundings. Another highlight was running 4 oxfams as part of Miler teams. It was great to share the experience with mates and get each other through the 100kms.
Running lowlight: Tearing the meniscus in my knee while doing a parkrun in the Blue Mountains. Stopped me from running for 6 months.
Favourite running shoe: Don’t really have a favourite shoe, I cycle through many different pairs. In a race, I would probably go to the Nike Alpha Flys
Favourite Training Session: Any session with a big group of Milers when there is someone just behind you and someone just in front of you to push you harder than you would otherwise.
How do you prepare for a race?: Usually a bowl of rice the night before a marathon.
Hobbies: Running (duh), playing guitar, home brewing, music, Carlton FC
Biggest dislike: Sauce
Favourite area for training: For long runs: Mullum trails, hills around Bright, Eaglemont, Dandenongs. For sessions: Tan, Box Hill Gardens
Favourite food: Roast lamb
Favourite drink: My home brew hazy pale ale or IPA or a Coonawarra red
Favourite show/movie: Anything set a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away
Favourite music: Pink Floyd, Iron Maiden, Nick Cave, Megadeth, John Denver

A little known fact about me: I played a singing policeman in a movie alongside Ben Mendelsohn and Rachel Griffiths.
