The latest event in this year’s MMM Club Championship was the 5km handicap at AOP (Olympic Park Oval) on 16 April.

In calm, pleasant, if unseasonably warm, conditions 12 runners covered just under 10 laps of the track.

Anne Martin was comfortably first past the post (scratch time of 21.18), followed 9 seconds later by Bruce Arthur (18.02). There was a battle for third however, as Mark Willetts (19.18) just held off Bruce Davie (18.57).

Here’s the video graphic of how the handicaps unwound: video

Anne Martin’s effort leaves her second in the women’s overall standings after three events, behind Katie Seibold. In the men’s ladder Mark Willetts leads, in part thanks to a win in the 3k handicap, with Mile winner Bruce Arthur second and the consistent Gary Zuccala third. Full standings can be found here.

We’ve got two relays over the next few weeks, the 5Ms (26 May) and Two Bridges Relay (11 June), either side of the Albert Park 10km (2 June). With points also up for grabs for your best age-graded Parkrun of the year, keep in mind the next Milers Parkrun Morning, at Parkville on 18 May.
